Repair Ubuntu File System using fsck manually

While booting up your Ubuntu or any other Linux OS, you may end up with below screen.

There are n-number of reasons for the same. Let me share a few:

1. The reason I faced. I have a dual OS — Windows & Ubuntu. Windows took an update and restarted. But, during the boot Ubuntu takes precedence if choice is not provided which one to boot first. So, that’s the reason for error.
2. Sometimes, multiple hard re-boots also crashes the filesystem.

Fear not, you have an easy way to tide through this. Just use fsck(File System Check) manually. This helps you check the consistency of file system and repair it if possible.

So, the command would be : fsck /dev/nvme0n1p6 [Root errored filesystem place]. Then enter y/yes/a(yes to all) a few times accordingly. And then you would see something like below.

Once, this is complete, hard re-boot your OS. And back to happy world again with below screen.
